Sergio vs Nicolai – Center Court
As Usual, our Argentinian Punisher, aka, Sergio ‘El Castigator’ Tocalini Joerg showed his opponent Nicolai Wermuth no mercy! Using his excellent drop shots and missiles to the back of the court, he didn’t give his opponent a single chance to even get close to winning a set! A 3-0 with ease, elegance and power! Congrats Sergio!
Timothy vs Lorin Heslop
Timothy didn’t only play his first IC game of his career, he also won it! What a demonstration of calm, controlled, effortless squash! He won his 2 first games like he was going for a walk in the park! In the 3rd set, his opponent, Lorin, decided he wasn’t having any of that and put the pressure on by whacking the ball like his life depended it on it, which caught Timothy by surprise, losing the 3rd set. But what a mature, mentally strong come back to win the 4th easily thanks to his perfect lengths to the back of the court and magnificent boasts that no one sees coming! Congrats Timothy! You are officially a threat in the IC world!
Thomas K vs Stefan Heslop
Thomas clearly wanted to get his money worth for his game! He decided to go for a 5-setter to make sure he deserved his pizza at the end of the evening! In the first set, after remembering that you’re supposed to play above the tin, he won the game through a battle of thrashing the ball to make himself heard throughout the club! Unfortunately, he lost the next two battles in set 2 & 3 but what a comeback! He won the 4th set by smartly pushing the balls to the back of the court, then finishing off the point when needed with a punishing drop at the front! And we had our first doughnut of the season! He won 11-0 in the 5th set, leaving his opponent flabbergasted and on his knees from exhaustion! Congratulations Thomas!
Christian vs Cyrus Morsali
Christian played his 2nd IC of his career after stepping in for our team last year already! He put up a great fight against his opponent Cyrus, matching the cross courts and boasts and drops that Cyrus was throwing at him in the first 2 sets…but the nerves got the better of him in the 3rd and 4th set, having to concede the win to Cyrus. It was a great game to watch! It could have gone either way. Cyrus got lucky this time but I have no doubt Christian will have his revenge in the next game! Congrats Christian! Looking forward to your next game and win!
