IC GC VI vs Winterthur II

Last night, our team managed to win 3-1 against a very strong team from Winterthur! Congratulations team! Very proud of you!

Robin vs Kevin Siewerdt

Robin was confronted with a very strong opponent who was clearly under ranked! In the first set, this led to a very tight battle between them alternating a series of impressive lengths and a competition of who played the best boasts… The first set led to a win from Kevin at 11-6.

The second set was pretty similar to the first one, with the same type of impressive shots won…A very close win for Kevin again at 11-9.

In the 3rd and last set, both opponents kept putting on the same fight, challenging each other with deep, quick lengths and crosses to the back and a competition of boasts and drops. Kevin managed to win yet another set at 11-7, winning the match 3-0. Even though the score looked like an easy win, it was indeed a very hard fought game. Congratulations Robin on putting up such a fight!

Thomas Dewaele vs Kevin Bosshard

Thomas Dewaele must have eaten some spinach for lunch cause he was as powerful as Popeye and on fire! Not being the slightest bit intimidated by his opponent, he completely dominated the game, throwing even the kitchen sink at him to make sure he didn’t have a chance of taking even 1 set. A clear 3-0 win from our diamond from Antwerp! Congratulations Thomas, what an amazing performance (could you also please share your secret ingredients for such an immaculate game with other team members 😊)

Thomas Keel vs Christoph Heiniger

It seems Thomas has decided to start a new hobby: the collection of the amount of mistakes he can make per set without risking to lose the match!

In the first set, he was obviously still experimenting with his new hobby because after hitting either the ball out at least 3 times and in the tin about 8 times, he lost the first set to his opponent who was quite happy with the way the game was going up to then.

After the first set though, Tom started adapting the number of errors he could get away with and only just managed to find the right dosage to win the second set 11-8.

In the 3rd and 4th set, Tom decided he enjoyed ‘living on the edge’ and stuck to the same amount of mistakes in those sets too, managing to win 11-9 and then 13-11 with his new developed system. Thanks for giving Petra and myself (loyal supporters) many frights (yes, it felt like Halloween!) watching the nerve wrecking new system! And of course, congratulations on winning the game 3-1 in the end!

Karim vs Oliver Iselin

Karim and Oliver must have gathered the most amount of steps during the game last night! They had an impressive marathon, taking turns in pushing their opponent to the back then to the front with almost impossible drops to get, and yet, getting them and allowing us spectators a very entertaining match!

In the first set, Karim’s lengths were just not long enough to get the better of his opponent, losing the first game 12-10. In the second game though, Karim managed to slightly dominate the number of winning points, winning 12-10 this time! In the 3rd game, he completely dominated the game, finding the perfect depth for his lengths and playing impossible drops to get! He won 11-4 with ease! In the last game, Karim gave his opponent a little bit of hope at some point, which allowed his opponent to make a few impressive points. But Karim had decided he gave enough hope after 7points and won the 4th game 11-7. Congratulations Karim for this impressive win! What a battle!

Very proud to be the captain of GC VI! What a team!
